About myself:

Everything began with the purchase of my first SLR (single lens reflex camera) in 1998.

Soon after the buy I started to realize that, as Gisèle Freund said,:

"The eye makes the picture not the camera."

[
Gisèle Freund]

After my first attempts in nature- and still-life photography I came across the photography of people which now represents the major part of my artistc work.

I already took advantage of digital postprocessing when I was using a Nikon F90x and slide film. In 2003 the first digital reflecting reflex camera (Fuji Finepix S2 Pro) was added to my equipment and improved my life by easing the digitalization process (that was former done using a Nikon Coolscan III slide- and negative scanner).

After several years of great performance the Fuji SLR got supported by another digital SLR in 2007 when I bought a Nikon D200.

I was born in 1976 in Tyrol (Austria/Europe), however, I moved to Vienna for occupational reasons  in 1998 and since 2004 I live in Lower Austria (still not far away from Vienna).

My job has nothing to do with photography at all - this might also be a reason why I appreciate this creative hobby as a kind of compensation.

Beside the quotation which I already mentioned on top, the following has also inspired me:

"Make visible what, without you, might
perhaps never have been seen."

[Robert Bresson]
